""Perfect family cabin! Accessible for wheelchair"
My husband is wheelchair bound so we are careful when we plan family vacations. Mike was very open and honest when I asked him about the cabin. He said that it would not meet all the federal regulations but did have ramps at both front and back entrances. I told him that we often find the regulations a joke anyway (I mean how is it acceptable to put wheelchair occupants on floors higher than ground level in hotels--but it is). I digress....I told Mike that we mainly needed to be sure the doors were wide enough and he assured me that all doors were 36". We went on expecting to "make do". What a pleasant surprise! The doors are wide, there's a nice, sturdy shower chair to use, a hand-held shower wand in one bath tub/shower, everything is wide open and spacious...including one bathroom that gives ample space for moving about in the wheelchair. Mike offered to come put in a commode chair to make it easier, but we did not need it. He was always around handy if anything had come up that we needed, but we never lacked for anything. Our trip included ourselves plus our married son and daughter-in-love with their 6 month old daughter. Our other son and our daughter and son-in-love came up for day visits and there was always plenty of space. The furnishing are lovely, the cabin is well stocked, and I just can't say enough about how pleasant our weekend was. We will definitely be going back. PS....they have everything you need. I packed like going camping and that was such overkill. Detergent, coffee, coffee filters, sugar, creamer, artificial sweetener, baggies, aluminum foil, and plastic wrap were just a few of things that I never expected. Extra pillows, linens, towels, hair dryer, iron and ironing board. I know I'm forgetting to mention things, but just want you to know it is ideal. Mike even brought over charcoal and lighter fluid when he knew we planned to grill! There were great DVDs for all ages, board games and outside games as well. We had huge breakfast feasts with the provisions in our refrigerator when we arrived. Thanks Mike & Carolyn. I pray that God blesses your business. Pictures don't do the place justice.
